Want to try out a new daily habit? I've got 50 lil’ suggestions.
Here's a great one:
Transform Your Day by Connecting with Someone Special
We are social creatures. Connecting with others is so important that not doing it enough is one of the most common end-of-life regrets.
Studies show that people who maintain strong connections with others are likely to lead healthier lives. Connection can lead to decreased feelings of loneliness, isolation and depression and increase our sense of belonging, purpose, and overall life satisfaction. Meaningful connection can even generate a natural rush of bliss: Oxytocin is known as the “love drug” for good reason.
The Daily Habits of Happiness Experts
The experts we surveyed had a handful of happiness habits in common. Spending time with family outside of the house, and with friends in a non-professional setting, were big ones: the majority did both at least once a week, and many gathered socially three to four times a week. John Zelenski, a psychology professor at Carleton University, describes social relationships as the chief building blocks of happiness. We all stand to benefit from close friendships, romantic partners, and a “general sense of respect and belonging in a community,” he says.

The most important thing to remember is that it doesn’t take a lot of time or effort for connection to make a difference.
Begin this lil’ habit right now. Create a list of people who you feel good around and then connect with at least one of them every day. It doesn’t matter how you connect, as long as it’s done with authentic intention.
As hard as it may sometimes feel to make time for socializing, prioritizing it can help you avoid feelings of disconnection. What's more, when done with intention, forming meaningful connections can be as easy as a few small, thoughtful acts each day! Investing in your relationships is an excellent habit to build, and if you want to learn about other lil’ habits that make a big difference, be sure to subscribe.
If this LIL’ HABIT resonates with you, help make it stick by talking about it with a friend.
