50 Lil' Habits: Daily To-Do List
Bring intention to your day by capturing an action list first thing in the morning.
Our "go big or go home" culture has left many people feeling overwhelmed, stuck, and gloomy, when all it takes is a lil’ action to turn things around.
Want to try out a new daily habit? I've got a few suggestions.
Here's one:
Create a moment in your morning routine to visualize your day and jot down tasks you need to complete. Prioritize the action you’ll take that day.
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex, overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.” - Mark Twain
There are so many ways to do your to-do list, so experiment until you land on a process that works for you. Yes, you want a reminder to complete your tasks, but ultimately you want the most frictionless way to create intention for your day that allows you to follow through; this is the difference between a long list of life’s chores and a tool that fosters growth and reconnection with your bigger picture.
“The great secret about goals and visions is not the future they describe but the change in the present they engender.” ― David Allen
Regarding your “big picture” journey, start lil’ by visualizing your best life and write down the one action you need to take today to make that happen. Be curious about the tasks you consistently avoid; I’ve found that personal growth typically happens after completing those.
